Writer Andrea L. Simpson lived in Hawaii for most of her life and served as vice president of corporate communications for three Fortune 500 energy companies in Hawaii, Texas, and California. Her articles have been published in national and international business journals, and in Hawaii and Pacific newspapers and magazines.
She was named Hawaii Public Relations Professional of the Year, Honolulu Advertising Woman of the Year, and was twice awarded Silver Anvils, the national PR profession’s Oscar. She has a BA in history and an MSc in information systems, both from USC. She is a graduate of the ten-day summer-residency Yale Writers Workshop, a Stanford University extension writers course, a member of the Historical Novel Society, the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI), and the Independent Writers of Southern California (IWOSC).
Work in progress: Andrea's historical novel, THE COVENANT KEEPERS, is inspired by a true story based on her great-grandfather's life in China as the eye doctor to the Empress Dowager during the infamous Boxer Rebellion of 1900.
